How Lanter handles your data.

Last updated: July 21, 2026

Lanter works fully offline, with no account required.

Your tasks, courses, and notes are stored on your device by default.

No advertising, and no usage analytics or behavioral tracking.

If the app crashes, we receive an anonymous technical report — never your content.

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data.

If you choose to sign in, your tasks and courses are backed up to a secure cloud service (Supabase) solely so you can restore them and use them across devices.

What stays on your device

Tasks, courses, notes, deadlines, reminders, preferences, and all atmospheric and personalization behavior. If you never sign in, none of this ever leaves your device — the only thing Lanter sends on its own is an anonymous crash report if the app breaks.

What's stored in the cloud (only if you sign in)

Cloud storage and authentication are provided by Supabase on our behalf, protected by security rules so only you can access your own data. We do not store analytics, usage tracking, or behavioral profiles — the atmospheric and personalization layer never leaves your device.

Crash reporting

When something in Lanter breaks, the app sends an anonymous crash report so we can find the problem and fix it. These reports are handled by Sentry, and include the type of error, where in the code it happened, your device model, operating system version, and the app version.

Crash reports never include your tasks, courses, deadlines, notes, or anything else you write in Lanter. Screenshots and screen contents are switched off. Your IP address is not collected.

Sentry processes this data in the European Union. You can read their privacy policy at sentry.io/privacy.
