How Lanter handles your data.

Last updated: July 12, 2026

Lanter works fully offline, with no account required.

Your tasks, courses, and notes are stored on your device by default.

No analytics, tracking, or advertising of any kind.

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data.

If you choose to sign in, your tasks and courses are backed up to a secure cloud service (Supabase) solely so you can restore them and use them across devices. That's the only reason cloud storage exists.

What stays on your device

Tasks, courses, notes, deadlines, reminders, preferences, and all atmospheric and personalization behavior. If you never sign in, no personal data ever leaves your device.

What's stored in the cloud (only if you sign in)

Cloud storage and authentication are provided by Supabase on our behalf, protected by security rules so only you can access your own data. We do not store analytics, usage tracking, or behavioral profiles — the atmospheric and personalization layer never leaves your device.

What we do not do

Your control

Children's privacy

Lanter is intended for students and general audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the legally required age in their region.

Data security

We use industry-standard encryption and access rules, and we collect as little as possible by design.
